A temporary garden in the heart of Berlin:
an experiment in the sensory experience of urban nature
Berlin is in a time of dynamic transformation. Empty lots are disappearing, buildings are being converted and remodeled. How can society be more involved in urban development? And are there ways to integrate nature into increasingly dense urban structures?
On an empty lot on Invalidenstrasse, Little Wood, a temporary garden that provides space for such questions, has sprouted. Little Wood is a comprehensive experiment in the exploration and sensory experience of urban nature.
The Contemporary Food Lab has curated a program including workshops, lectures, film screenings, dinner clubs and concerts. Every afternoon doors are open for picknicking, participating in events, or just spending time, and enjoying.
